Smoky Mountain Ranch is in the heart of the best pheasant hunting in South Dakota.   Located in northern Brown County along the banks of the Elm River, the ranch features the very best in pheasant habitat and a very high hunter success rate.

In 2004, Smoky Mountain Ranch received the Izaak Walton League award for wildlife habitat.

The entire ranch is over 3000 acres in size and contains cropland, idle native prairie, pasture land, planted CRP grass, riparian forest, field windbreak trees, and wildlife  food plots.  There are over 80 acres of food plots planted to corn, sorqhum, and millet.
